In these Park&Ride areas, drivers can park and reach their final destinations in the city via public transport. To convince drivers that this is best, it is important to offer a good mobility experience.

The parking guidance solution for park & ride facilities consists in equipping their entrances and exits and reserved spaces areas with wireless sensors to detect vehicles passing over in the first case and their presence in the second, to generate useful real-time parking availability information.

Benefits:

  • Informing about parking availability and the alternative transportation options help drivers dedice to leave their car before entering the city.
  • Guiding vehicles to the park & ride areas with free spots reduce significantly the urban traffic generated by vehicles in search for a free space. It means a proportional decrease in the pollution generated.
  • Reducing city center chaos created by traffic make citizens more willing to travel to the city center for shopping, so it stimulates local trade.

The guidance solution includes:

  • U-Flow counting sensors or U-Spot single space detection sensors
  • Integration with multimodal platforms and mobile Apps
  • Dynamic and high-quality message signs adapted to urban environments, which transmit the information related to the availability of free spaces.
  • Management web and mobile applications for device management and parking use analyzing.

How does it work?

  1. The driver passes through the sensor at the entrance of the parking area.
  2. It detects it and sends the information to the platform that collects the data where the number of spaces is recalculated and the information is sent to the panels and Apps indicating one less free space.
  3. When the vehicle leaves the area, the process is reversed and the platform sends the data indicating one more available space.
  4. From U-Admin the manager can configure and monitor all system activity.
